Regency Naturalistic Tree Form Console Table ( sold )
A delightful and wonderfully sculptural, Regency period, English Country House, naturalistic tree from console table. The original Carrara marble top, sits on a gilded support of entwined tree branches, emerging from a rooted base, the whole in country House attic condition, beautifully and naturally distressed, with some losses and old repairs.
This table, in the manner Thomas Johnson, dates to the first quarter of the 19th century and has a bolder, more chinoiserie feel to it, rather than the mid 18th century, Rococo style Johnson tables.
English circa 1820
