A Fine Neoclassical Faux Marble Painted And Gilded Pedestal
An English Country House, early 19th century, original decorated statuary pedestal. The faux marble painted, fluted column, with gilded leaf decoration, stands on a base with a gilded laurel leaf and ribbon border. This pedestal is constructed in pine, with gesso moulded decoration and in untouched country house condition, it has some losses and old restoration as you would expect, is beautifully and naturally distressed and wonderfully decorative.
