Pair Of J M Blashfield Mantlepiece Figures Of Children ( sold )
An extremely rare and fine pair of mid 19th century terracotta mantlepiece figures by J M Blashfield. Illustrated in the 1857 Blashfield catalogue as No 338 'The Boys' Own Book' and No 339 'The First Letter' .
Both stamped and In very good condition, one old glued repair to the base of the boy ( please see last image )
After extensive research, these are the only pair that I have been able to find.
