Very Large Early 19th Century Upholstered Ottoman Stool
A very large scale, early 19th century, Country House ottoman stool, originally the base of a chaise. Standing on bold carved and reeded Rosewood legs, original gilt brass castors, traditionally reupholstered and ready for its top coat.
When this stool was stripped, we found a lovely hand painted inscription ' E Brice Bristol WAG 22' which I would think would refer to the date it was first upholstered '1822' as it was on the original base layer of upholstery, we have kept it and attached it to the underneath.
English Bristol circa 1822
