George III Housekeepers Cupboard From Monreith House

A glorious, very large scale, George III period housekeepers cupboard from Monreith House, Wigtownshire, the historical seat of the Clan Maxwell.
Centered by four large drawers, the pairs of doors above and below have internal shelves, bracket feet to the base, the whole dry scraped back to its most wonderful original paint and in very good condition.

Scottish circa 1800

Monreith House, built to replace the earlier Myrton Castle, was designed by Alexander Stevens, for Sir William Maxwell, 4th Baronet in 1791.
