Austin And Seeley Figure Of Sir Jeffrey Hudson
A rare early to mid 19th century composition stone garden figure of Sir Jeffrey Hudson, ( Sir Geoffrey Hudson in the Austin And Seeley catalogue of 1841 ) by Austin and Seeley. Beautifully weathered, with some losses and old repairs.
Jeffrey Hudson was presented to Queen Henrietta Maria of England in 1926, emerging from a very large pie, dressed in a full suit of armour. Charming the Queen, he went into her service and became a member of court, until Charles I was deposed in 1649.
