17th Century Carved Marble Face Of A Cherub
A beautiful 17th century, or earlier, Italian carved marble face of a cherub. Boldly carved with rounded cheeks, curly hair, with drilled detail to the eyes and hair. In country house attic condition, some stains, loss to the end of the nose, a small piece glued back into place on the back right hand side. For a similar carving please see the work of Jacopo della Pila, who worked in Naples in the late 15th century.
