An exceptionally rare, George III period, Coade Stone terracotta figure of a Brahmin / Nandi Bull. Finely modelled and beautifully weathered, with minor losses and some restoration ( please enquire for full condition report ).
There are identical Coade Stone Bulls to be found at Sezincote, Gloucestershire.
Sir James Cockerell ordered eight of them in 1814, two are left, both are stamped 'Coade London' the others are replacement copies in Bronze and cast iron.
