John Cheere ( 1709–1787 ) is one of the most well known and prolific English lead sculptors of the 18th century, manufacturing and retailing from his yard, at Hyde Park corner, the former premises of his tutor Jon Nost II. Cheere produced a wide range of statuary, both in scale and design, his ability to keep up with market trends made him the most successful of the lead sculptors and earned him patronage from many important, wealthy families, you'll find examples of his work at many English Country Houses, his pieces when they become available, are very sought after.
You can find very similar example at Batemans, the former home of Rudyard Kipling, owned by the National Trust item NT 761592.2
