Rare Pair of 19th Century Pulham Terracotta Urns On Plinths

A truly stunning, beautifully formed, classical pair of terracotta urns on plinths, by James Pulham and Son of Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. With Greek key and Vitruvian scroll detail, in very good condition, some fine hairline cracks, that are surface only and both urns and plinths stamped.

James Pulham established the Pulham Company in 1820 and started manufacturing terracotta products from around 1846, through to the early part of the 20th century, specialising in exterior, landscape and garden ornaments, follies and grottos. They exhibited and won medals at London's Great Exhibition of 1851 and 1862 International Exhibition.
