A large and very rare pair of terracotta urns made by Compton Potteries for Liberty and known as the Penda pot, both stamped and in excellent condition.
Provenance: Gertrude Jekyll designed grounds for Admiral John ( Jackie ) Fisher, Leith Hill, Surrey.
Fisher was responsible for rebuilding the British navy prior to the First World War, a brilliant man, probably our second greatest admiral ever (after Nelson).
