A very rare early 19th century English marquetry picture in the Swiss style by J H Grigg. The picture consisting of over three hundred pieces of inlaid wood depicting a Highlands Country House, untouched and unrestored.
The picture has two labels on the back the first stating ' A residence in the Highlands where His Majesty entertained the different clans, who went through their games, Mechanical picture containing three hundred pieces of wood, Made by J H Grigg' the second ' Patronized by His Grace The Duke Of Wellington'
Condition: cracks, and lifting to the veneers, warped back boards, minor losses to the frame, but all stable and secure.
